If you’re too facing this error, you need to find out how this issue can be solved. If your system is a part of a domain, you need to ask the domain controller to support this.
If you’re facing this problem on an isolated machine (non-domain system), you need to unplug the network cable from the machine. After unplugging the cable, turn off WiFi and reboot the machine. After restarting the machine, plug the network cable, and turn on WiFi. In most cases, this will solve the problem.
Fix The Number Of Connections To This Computer Is Limited
Well, before trying anything complex this simple fix might fix your issue:
- Unplug your network cable, or turn off your wifi.
- Reboot your computer
- Log in to your computer (Don’t plug in your network cable just now or don’t switch on the Wifi)
- Once you are logged into your PC, plug in your network cable or turn ON your wifi.
This might have worked but if you are still facing the issue continue to next step.
1. Press Windows Key + R and type regedit in the Run dialog box to open Registry Editor. Click OK.
2. In the left pane of Registry Editor, navigate here:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
3. Moving on, highlight the Internet Settings key and come to its right pane. Then right-click the Internet Settings and select New -> DWORD Value. Name the newly created DWORD (REG_DWORD) as MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server. Similarly, create another registry DWORD and name it MaxConnectionsPerServer. Now, double click on any one of them.
4. Finally, in the Edit DWORD Value box, select Decimal as Base and put the Value data equal to 10 (equivalent to an in Hexadecimal Base). Click OK. Similarly, change the Value data for another DWORD and put the same value for it as well. Now close Registry Editor.
5. Reboot the machine, and after restarting your system, you’ll find that the problem no longer exists.

For my personal computer, this happened after a set of updates was downloaded. I was unable to log in even from the physical keyboard. Restarting in safe mode “fixed” the issue by reminding the computer there were updates to be installed. After they installed, I was able to log in.

Thank you. Just this week (late August 2019) my desktop that has:
1) an unactivated version of Windows 10 pro (because the win 8/10 I had would not allow RDP) and
2) some hack I downloaded to allow multiple RDP sessions
… started displaying this error. At first I saw it in RDP but then saw that I could not log in from the keyboard.I followed the instructions here and was able to log in when the network cable was unplugged. I then added the D-word in current user. I plugged the cable back in and restarted. I was able to log in, but as I type now, I’m staring at a red screen. Hmm… maybe time to unplug the cable again

Looking at recently installed programs, Google Chrome 8/26/2019 and GoToMeeting 8/25/2019 are the only recently installed updates, making Google Chrome the most likely culprit. Strange?

Although this solved my issue, last night it came back. And the reg keys are already there and set to 10. So this solution is no longer working for me.
I’m concerned I’m hacked or something.

I am still having problems can only, login using safe mode, won’t let me login normally, it’s got to be done service not starting, as it’s works in safe mode, any help please

I had to disable remote desktop in safe mode and then it allowed me to log in. Then I proceeded to update the system.

Rebooted my laptop Dell (old) with Shiftkey and then Reboot. Then I could roll back to an older restore point (2 months back) and then was able to login. With the most recent restore point it did not work. Now I have to update again and hope it will not lead to the same problem. In any case I will edit the Registry.
Any further help would be appreciated. This is the first time this happens and only on one out of 4 laptops!Reply
