In the season premiere of The Boys season 4, The Seven have some choices to make. After the events of season 3, there are openings on the team, and a whole lot of candidates to choose from.
As Homelander, A-Train, The Deep, and (replacement) Black Noir look on, Vought’s Ashley Barrett presents 25 options for them to choose from. Ultimately, the team goes with two new original characters for the show — Sister Sage and Firecracker.

We’re not going to go too much into them, because you’ll meet them this season. Instead, let’s meet the rejects.
A few have slides pulled onto the screen with (occasionally quite funny) details, like past credits on Vought TV shows and movies, but the rest of the 25 candidates are just listed by name. We’ve dug into the comics a bit to give you more info on those, since their names being mentioned on the show confirms their existence in the show’s universe. We’ve organized them by in-universe team affiliation, since some are listed.
The main rejected candidates
Talon

Ashley’s top choice on “pure social” bona fides, Talon is a supe influencer with over 23 million followers on Instagram and V, Vought’s social media platform. She has “retractable carbon steel nail plates,” and her other listed skills are “lock picking,” “acrobatics” (which she likely picked up in her training at the Cirque du Vought Academy), and “1/8 Navajo.” She appeared in Tek Knight’s Heat of the Knight, and a bunch of pilots that weren’t ordered: Claws of Justice, Talon: Night Huntress, C.L.A.W.S., and Claw Force.
In the comics, she’s a Catwoman parody who is associated with Tek Knight — sometimes adversarially, sometimes not.
Hyperion

Runner-up on season 15 of Vought’s Next Top Supermodel and runner-up (to Homelander) for Sexiest Supe Alive, Hyperion is rejected by Ashley for being a “slu*tty cumrag.” (Her words! Don’t shoot the messenger.) Her resume boasts appearances on 2 Hot 2 Handle, Street Heat, Dirty Diaries: Reno, and Dirty Diaries: Mazatlan. Her special skills are super intuition, divine femininity, and fireproof hair.
As far as I can tell, she is an original character for the show and does not appear in the comics, but the show does identify her as a member of the Teenage Kix, a parody of youth-focused teams like the Teen Titans and Young Avengers that A-Train previously belonged to.
Dogknott
![Meet the rejected candidates for The Seven (4) Meet the rejected candidates for The Seven (4)](https://i0.wp.com/cdn.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/BOhpGiPmu0VrMSw8PdOqwRkKZ3g=/0x0:2764x1151/1200x0/filters:focal(0x0:2764x1151):no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/25490025/Screenshot_2024_06_13_at_08.11.58.png)
A dog-themed parody of Beast Boy, the decidedly human Dogknott looks very different from the version of him in the comics, who is more of a dog-human hybrid.
Ashley’s slide notes Dogknott, from Portland, can summon “feral canines” to his aid. Are these random feral canines in the area, or feral canines he can create? Your guess is as good as mine. But his other skills include canine telepathy, cancer detection, super hearing, night vision, and, of course, “hates fireworks.”
His past credits include the reality series Poundtown with Dogknott, the Doggie’s Home Voughtkids movie franchise, the Voughtland Animal Stunt Show, and a cable access series called Animal Husbandry for Fun and Profit. He was also trained at Julius Rome’s Obedience School.
A-Train objects to this one, saying “Hold up, I thought he ate a dog.” The Deep, himself no stranger to bestial*ty, solemnly replies, “He ate out a dog. It’s a big difference.”
In the comics, he is also a member of the Teenage Kix.
Wrangler

We briefly see Ashley’s slide for this “Texas nutjob,” as she calls him, but it’s out of focus so the text is illegible. Ashley also notes Vought’s San Antonio office had to cover up “those migrant murders” for him. This character seems to be an original to the show.
From here on out, we’re just going off of the names on the long list, but some have appeared in the show.

Young Americans
The Standard
In the comics, he’s a member of the Young Americans (the conservative Christian superhero group Starlight was formerly a member of) who can fly.
Holy Mary
Holy Mary’s whole shtick is dressing like a nun. In the comics, Starlight catches Drummer Boy (Supersonic in the show), her ex, cheating with Holy Mary.
Super Duper
Lady Arklite
In the comics, she’s a member of Paralactic, a cybernetically enhanced team of supes. In the show, she’s a member of Super Duper, a parody of the Legion of Super-Heroes and one of the only decent superhero teams in the universe of The Boys.
Malchemical
In the comics, he’s a shape-shifter who is a parody of Metamorpho. He is also a real piece of sh*t, and got transferred from Team Titanic to Super Duper for being a piece of sh*t.
Teenage Kix
Hyperion
Mentioned above in the main rejected candidates.
Big Game
Previously seen in camera footage during the very first episode of the show, Big Game is the leader of the Teenage Kix. He has the power of flight, super strength, and super durability. His closest analog in the conventional world of superhero comics is Nightwing.
Shout Out
Shout Out’s powers include flight and electrokinesis.
Jetstreak
A minor character, there is not a ton of information on Jetstreak.
G-Force
Europo
In season 3, he appeared in a wanted poster in Mother’s Milk’s closet. In the comics, he’s a teleporter parody of Nightcrawler and a member of the X-Force parody G-Force.
Stacker
The Boys’ version of Colossus has super strength and durability.
Luckless
We saw a picture of Luckless in season 3, as one of the eliminated contestants on the reality show American Hero. Her closest analog is to Rogue/Domino.
G-Men
The Devine
A member of the X-Men parody group G-Men, The Devine is The Boys’ version of Angel, and can fly.
Groundhawk
Groundhawk is a Wolverine parody, but with hammers for hands. He showed up in Diabolical’s “Nubian vs. Nubian” episode, as he previously played the part of supervillain in the public eye so that Nubian Prince and Nubia had someone to fight. He also starred with Crimson Countess in a propaganda movie during the Cold War. In the comics, he is much more animalistic, can’t say anything other than “gonna,” and is a cannibal.
G-Wiz
Airburst
A minor character in the comics, I couldn’t find much information about Airburst besides him also being known as Weezer and being a part of G-Wiz, a team of young superheroes that feeds into the G-Men.
Pinwheel
Pinwheel is a minor character in the comics who has psychic powers.
Fantastico
Invisi-Lass
Yes, Fantastico is The Boys’ version of the Fantastic Four, and Invisi-Lass is the Invisible Woman parody.
Team Titanic
Jimmy the One
A minor character in the comics, Jimmy the One is the leader of Team Titanic, another one of the The Boys’ versions of the Teen Titans.
Unaffiliated
Tek Knight
Tek Knight showed up on Gen V, investigating Golden Boy’s death as the host of the Vought Plus true-crime series The Whole Truth. He’s a combination Iron Man/Batman parody in the comics, but much closer to Batman in the show, and will be featured this season on The Boys. He has powers of deduction and observation, and as a result of a brain tumor, will have sex with anything at any time.
Incineron
Besides a throwaway mention in the very first issue, there’s not much information on Incineron.
Dr. Peculiar
The Boys’ version of Doctor Strange is an information trader, pimp, and drug dealer.
Lord Horus
This character was killed in the comics by The Boys without making an official appearance.
Pit Stop
I have not found any info about this character in the comics!
Black Helmet
Likewise, I have not found any info about this character in the comics.
